    help with cipher

I am playing on Master & the only things I have left on my list are to complete the formula (I still need to find the ace) & decode the cipher wheel (I have the missing piece to it). I really don't understand how to decode the wheel! Hints only please & thank you.

Those items that look like torn scraps of paper, Master has 8, start w/the one with the arrow and overlay them, matching the symbols.

I'm not sure I have these torn pieces of paper...where do you find them?

You found them in two places.

[ One was in Kate's case notes.
The rest was in a folder found on the Cathedral Computer. ]

Ok now I know what papers you mean & that was what I was trying to use...but apparently I am just confused lol. Can you give me a hint about how it works with the blank spaces & repeating symbols?

Your goal is to overlay each paper matching a symbol from one paper to another.
You will wind up with 20 unique symbols that you will set the cypher wheel to.
The blanks just mean that symbols are missing from that one paper.

Wow this puzzle is making me feel dumb. (Just to clarify are there 8 pieces of paper with symbols or does the one on the cathedral computer count as 7 sets of symbols?) I don't understand how you can get 20 symbols when the longest set of symbols is only 7 symbols long...

There are only two clues: the paper in the archives and the clue in the file. You need to combine and overlap each set of symbols to make one long symbol. Start with the section with the arrow, and no symbols are repeated in the actual wheel.

There are 8 pieces of paper w/symbols.
If you imagine them as actual paper scraps, you will line them up in a straight line.

                  A bit of a spoiler...

Starting with the paper with the arrow, the ending symbol on that paper is )(.
Find )( on another paper, matching the symbol's position from one to the other.
Overlay the papers, and any missing symbols will get filled in.

Ok maybe I just need a spoiler because this is still not working for me (so many of the repeated symbols, when overlayed don't give me any info because the match one at the end of a set to one at the beginning of a set & I am still left with a ton of blanks!)

                      Hope this helps!
