Very Dissapointed

I just read the interview with the creator of WAC that was emailed to me. It just frstrated me so much I had to voice my opinion. First of all I love Nancy Drew games, I own every single one and I buy them the day they are released in the store so I feel like I can voice my disapointment honestly.

Although I was born in Georgia I grew up in Kansas and had family in Oklahoma so I truly know about twisters; so why is the next one about twisters set in Oklahoma? Twister alley is mainly in Kansas! The interview even hinted to The Wizard of Oz which is also about Kansas! Remeber the line "We're not in Kansas any more Toto!"

If anyone knows why please feel free to tell me!

Yeah, I do agree that HeR didn't get their facts right. Kansas is where the game should be set. "Tornado Alley". Yeah. But I still think we shouldn't doubt them. They always come out with a fun game to play.

Happy Sleuthing!

Actually, the heart of tornado alley covers Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, with a bunch of other states making the list depending on who you ask. Plus Norman, OK is home to the NSSL (National Severe Storms Laboratory) - maybe that's why they chose it. They probably didn't want people thinking they were going to do a Dorothy story, so picked one of the other states instead. But the title definitely makes one think of twisters!

Still a little dissapointed because everyone wants a game set in their own hometown but atleast you made it make a little more sense! Thank you!

The stroyline is based off a newer book which is actually set in Oaklahoma. They had to keep to the storyline so they set it in Oaklahoma. I can't remember the name of the book.
It doesn't really matter to me personally. I live in the Tornado Alley area, and it's not set in my state. I just hope that the plot is good!.

This is very true. The games have to be somewhat based on the book and since the setting is in Oklahoma, it seems more logical for the game to be set there.

I live in Kansas (getting
out asap, but that's beside the point)
and it isn't like the Wizard of Oz. Parts
of it is, but not entirely.
Oklahoma has bigger cities and
it doesn't have all those large barren
areas that the trailer
makes it look like.
I'mma let you finish HeR, but
so far this ain't the best game this year.
:(
Next game will probably be
about surfers and blondes in California, because
writing without stereotypes is
too hard. *whines sarcastically*

I do agree that Kansas is where most people think of when they think tornadoes. However, Oklahoma has tornadoes also. I personally don't mind about the setting. I also don't think we should judge the game before we have even played it.

Well, at least personally, I feel like HeR has judged the midwest.

Oklahoma really does have a lot of tornados. In many cases, if they have a have a tornado watch, one touches down. This is accurate imo.

But I do have to ask, I don't see the judging the Midwest. What do you mean by that?
