Brief ASH Review in 2017
Hi, everyone! I have been delinquent in playing the games as they are released.. since Alibi in Ashes came out 5 years ago, I thought i'd update the review board since I just completed my first run-through.
Plot: Plot was believable and interesting. You felt like you were solving a legitimate crime in this case, (which you were!) especially to prove Nancy's innocence! Sometimes the mystery can be a bit stretched, but in this case it was believable. 9/10
Setting: Loved this! I loved seeing Nancy's house, as well as seeing her friends in River Heights. I think the key aspect to the setting was that it's Nancy's hometown. More River Heights history would have been cool, but I think there were enough places to go that it was fun to drive around in! It was quick to get from place to place, which is awesome. (Some games can take forever to get to a certain place just to go back...) 7.5/10
Characters: These characters were pretty great. Stayed true to character and had believable motives. You get to talk to them a lot, which I love! You really got to play detective with everyone and could ask as many or as little questions as you'd like. 10/10
Things to Consider: This game is very short and also very step-by-step. There were not a lot of puzzles (which to be honest, made sense). However, I felt myself very lost several times (i.e. there was only 1 thing to do on my checklist at any time of the game). If you like going step by step, this game will work out perfectly for you. I like discovering things as I go along! 5/10
Overall: Not my favorite, definitely not my least favorite! Definitely worth a go
