Good puzzles, but the game just wasn't a favorite and I've only tried to finish it once due to time.

It took me quite a while to play that game. Truth be told, I'm such a scaredy-cat, that I turned it off after the first apparition of the dogs, since I was so afraid they would come back . I should say that I am actually scared of dogs in real life - so ghost dogs? That's just too much for me to handle! However, once I overcame my fear, I discovered a beautiful, not-so-scary game, that I thoroughly enjoyed playing.

I loved the scenery (that is one of the most crucial elements in a game for me), the nature around the lake was gorgeous, it made me wish I was there myself. The puzzles were pretty good, with the right level of difficulty. I didn't care that much for the characters, but the backstory with the prohibition era made up for it. While there was some enjoyable exploring, especially in the woods (I liked the birds quest - hey, I like birds ), I missed snooping around, and felt that some places could have been fleshed out. Going to one particular place was quite tedious, especially since you have to go back and forth several times in the game. The ending was a bit irritating, but fortunately there's always Second Chance .

All in all, I enjoyed this game much more than I thought I would, I really got caught up in the mystery. And I think I'm not that afraid of dogs anymore - ghost dogs, at least . A nice, big 8 for the Ghost Dogs of Moonlake.

    10/10

I just finished playing this game (for the first time) Saturday 5/30-and I loved it! My only complaint was that you only saw the ghost dogs once! ONCE! That was a letdown, I kept expecting to see them! I mean, you didn’t even hear them besides the first night you’re there. The woods was obviously tedious & frustrating but once I got my bearings it got better to navigate them. And there wasn’t a ton of character interaction, there was definitely some, but not a lot of run-ins w/the culprit besides once during game play & of course, at the end. Other than those minor things I absolutely adore this game. I would recommend it to someone who doesn’t really like a ton of hard & time consuming puzzles. It’s absolutely in my top 5 favorite games! I love the 20’s, the history, roman numerals, the setting-moon lake was just beautiful & the speakeasy, the dogs, the creepily awesome cemetery we get to explore and so much more! 10/10!

**Look for my in-dept review of this awesome game...coming soon!

My first ND game and my first love! This is, without a doubt, my favorite game of the entire series. The 20's bootleggin' charm mixed with the nostalgic feel of a cabin by the lake...a great duo. And what's charm without a little spookiness in a Nancy Drew game? The woods in this game were pretty creepy, but not as creepy as the woods in The Captive Curse ;) It's really a marvelous and TRULY unique game. HER did a splendid job and deserves a millions pats on the back. Also, I just wanted to add...this game taught me roman numerals. I HATED roman numerals beforehand and never saw a purpose for them. The filing puzzle stumped me for days, but after that I had a nearly complete knowledge of roman numerals that I was not soon to forget. As a pharmacy student, I pretty much thank this game and HER every day! I know that HER's mission is to help young girls fall in love with STEM subjects and I wanted to let them know that they helped me...not just with this game but with many other games in the series.

    One of the best IMO

I thought this was one of the best ND games out there. I have played many and most of them. This one keeps you on the edge of your seat. Very spooky and scary, to say the least. So, if you are not into horror and scary stories, this one may not be for you. There was parts I jumped at not knowing what to expect. KUDOS to this one 10 stars.

Love the game! It was the first one I played and maybe the only one that I solved on my own (I had no idea there were such things as walkthroughts, maybe they actually hadn't been invented at the time, I first played it about 9 years ago), anyway, it took me a while to finish it. :)

Not sure if I posted in this thread before but DOG is one of my most favorite games (since it was one of the first few I played). I never realized that the game's so easy until I completed it within two days without any help (just finished it). But maybe it's my subconscious mind that remembered the stuff since I played the game many times when I was in Primary school.

    Pros and Cons

    Pros:
    -beautiful setting
    -music was amazing!
-I like the whole gangster theme
    -plot was good
    -puzzles were fun
    -lots to explore
    -dogs were adorable!
    -kept my attention
    -lots of secret passageways

    Cons:
    -no snooping :(
    -characters weren't that great
-wasn't as scary as I thought it would be
    -culprit was obvious

    9/10
I really enjoyed this game! Believe it or not, the forest didn't bother me too much. I was just a little disappointed with the lack of snooping. The suspense was alright, but wasn't the best. There were so many fun puzzles, and I loved the idea of a hidden speakeasy. Also, the dogs were super cute! ^-^

I liked it well enough...the forest and bird-watching were really frustrating at times, and I don't think the characters were exceptionally well-developed. I also wished that there was one more suspect. But I did like the puzzles and the dogs!

A good game, but not my favorite. 7/10

I gave this game a 10. It had everything from frightening scenes, to snooping, to taking pictures of birds. It was very fun, and yet exciting. As one of the other users said, there was a point where I was afraid of the dark due to this game. But after I had finished the game, I was very pleased with it.

    Pros:

    -The beginning
    -The characters
    -The ending
    -The puzzles
-The amount of snooping there was
    -The music
    -The graphics
    -The dogs(!)
    -The nature that was incorporated

I didn't notice any cons in this game.

    Very well done, Her.

I played this with a friend of mine when it first came out. There was a point where we didn't want to go outdoors at night in the game. The dogs scared us a bit... we're big babies. lol It was very fun though! We were very satisfied at the end. :)

    A 10 XD

Aside for TRT this was actually by far one of my favorite Classic ND games...

My favorite thing about it was the dogs, I'm a big dog lover! :P And I also enjoyed to history of Mickey Malone and all that. I also loved the bird watcher guy, (I forgot his name) Red-hat or something.

It was a game that was big on being out and about in Nature, and since I love being outside, this was defiantly a game for me.

You know, this really was a great game, but I didn't like it as much as I first thought I would. There were some creepy moments, but overall it wasn't very scary (for me, a bad thing). The culprit was one of those types where you kind of knew it was them all along, but you were never entirely sure, so that was a good thing, I guess.
A pretty good game, just not me cup of tea.
