What did you think of this game?? (NO spoilers please)

I gave this game a 10!! This is my favorite game! I loved being on the train! It looked so authentic with the dolls, Copper Gorge, the crypt! The characters were fabulous also!!

Wow.

So far, this game is one of our clear favorites. It's plot was compelling and flowed nicely, surviving the many setting changes neccessary for its resolution. It was interesting to have Nancy starting out in a completely side-lined position as most games begin with people fawning all over her. The Hardy Boys were a welcome contribution (as always) and even though they just sat in the dining car being fabulous, they did proffer some valuable hints about the direction of our investigation. Plus, Frank makes one mean hamburger. Actually, make that five.

This was the only game besides Blackmoor Manor that really utilized the setting's potential for some scary cut scenes. The ghost outside the sleeping car and the mystery emergency brake are two examples, but, at least for us, the dolls and all their paraphenalia were the most terror inducing aspects of the game. There was just something innately creepy about all those little rhymes and receipts, not to mention that demonic "mama" doll, that was just plain scary.

Also, our fellow train inhabitants were interesting enough characters, even if talking to Tino wanted to make us go jump of the train. Their personalities were well-developed and remained pretty consistent throughout.

As for the puzzles:

They ranged from ridiculously easy to somewhat tricky, but most answers could be found on the train with the right initiative. While solving the puzzles is always gratifying, finding the answers provided the most excitement and served to engage us more fully into the plotline. While there were not as many different puzzles to solve as in some other games, these puzzles were perhaps the ones most well connected to the overall goal of the game.

All in all, a 10 for Blue Moon Canyon.

OK, I gave this game an 8 because it was a great game but I got really frusterated with the work overload. There was always so many little things that had to do! the good thing is< it was never boring and the hardy boys were really cute!

I gave this a 7 because I didn't like being stuck on the train for most of the game and I wish we could have actually gone into the restaurant instead of making hamburgers to listen to that man.
