  • Matching wavelengths for ghost hunt

I've probably been at this puzzle for an hour and a half and can't seem to solve it. I somehow managed to get the first two, but can't seem to match the third wavelength for the ghost hunt. I'm on master detective and know one knob Is frequency and one is amplitude, but can't seem to get them to match up. I'm also not really clear what the switch in the middle does. Any advice?

Here is the post that helped me with this:

Both knobs can change the shape of the wave from one period on the horizontal axis to another period (or different wave pattern).

The switch in the middle adds variation to both knobs.

I tried lining up the left knob for the height of the wave first, not only in height but also in a correct wave period on the horizontal axis by intermittently adjusting the right knob for wavelength.

I went back and forth to pick a correct height pattern in height and waveform, then played around with the right knob for wave-pattern width. I also tried the middle up/down switch which altered the wave slightly for a better match.

It may take a few trial and error approaches.
Maybe I just got lucky, I have no way of knowing.

I am going to review that part of the game again.
Let me know how you make out!
Also, if you are stuck on a particularly difficult pattern, you can back away from that spot, then return to it, and the pattern will be different- maybe even a little easier.
