The pictures on HeR for a solution to the portrait puzzle are probably the clearest you're going to find.
It's just a matter of manipulating the pegs and stretching the wires to try and get as close as possible to the end result.

i recomend to print the picture of the solution that HeR give, it's much more easier to solve the puzzle
