Stuck with Etching and Ellie

I'm stuck! I'm pretty sure I missed my first opportunity to snoop through Ellie's desk, and she's not leaving now. No one has anything to say. I have already

talked to Ryan and made the missing part for the Tesla coil

but NOTHING ELSE IS HAPPENING!!

My task list: Replace the missing capacitators
Make new circuit board for Tesla coil
Get into the control room in the lab
Repair both Tesla coils
Snoop Ellie's workspace
Investigate the login irregularity the night of the murder (which I have already looked into and talked to Grey about)
Investigate Ryan

No-- i haven't been able to get into Ellie's space at all.

Did you watch 2 security videos?

Yup, did both. Multiple times. Apparently

i was supposed to hear humming in the hallway afterward? But I didn't hear anything. Or it came but I missed it.

Yes, watching the 2 tapes is the trigger for that event.
You definitely need to snoop in Ellie's office to move forward.

Could it be a glitch?
Can you go back to a saved game and replay that part where you first watched them?
