  • My Spoiler Free Review of VEN

I have just finished The Phantom of Venice in a record 2 days with few references to HER boards... And I have composed my review...

I believe VEN has got to be my favorite game. The creative ways to earn euros, the mysterious and fun puzzles, the realness of the characters and scenery, and the enjoyable yet dark plot kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
For those who were disappointed after the Menu and theme song went away, never fear! A new and improved theme song has been added, as well as the Second Chance option to continue and placing you right where you made your fatal error, reminding you what you did wrong...

    1-10

    Plot: 10
    Characters: 9.5
    Setting: 8
    Dialogue: 6
    Puzzles: 7
    Difficulty: 8
    Scariness: 8.5
    All Around: 9.5!

I recommend this game to a little more advanced ND players who are familiar with how the game works...

Great review! Reps! But I have one question: When you say scarinesss: 8.5, does that mean that the game was really scary like CUR or the beginning of CRY, or was it just a little scary. Sorry if that was a really lame question.

No, not a lame question... I mean, the all around "scare factor" of the game, like a little bit of creepiness. Not as much as CUR, but more than CRY. In between I guess you could say... Good question!

what about the travel? I didn't like CRY all that much because there was very little that u could travel to. I really liked DAN though because there was tons of travel places.

Oh it is my absolute favorite! I would compare to DAN, since it's European, and there are tons of places in VEN to travel to at different points in the game.

It's sad, but I usually start with Junior, even though I could do Senior. I usually redo it and play Senior another time, since I replay my ND games many many times!

The parts where you dress Nancy up in different costumes... They cost a lot, but it's funny.
I also liked the gelato (duh) and the ending...

Tiny question. Did it have a warning in the beginning, like CRY?
Ya know, the lil message b4 the game started.

                              xoxo,
