lariat/cougar bend/petroglyphs/etc

I cannot figure out where to go from here, so any help would be appreciated! The things left on my task list are:

Get a lariat from Tex by playing and winning the games in the corral (is there a trick to this? I'm not getting it)
See what the name of the crackers were that F&D ate at Cappy's
Fix the chicken coop (don't think wire has arrived yet)
Mark the petroglyphs (I've done all I can)
Get Tex's permission to go riding (do that all the time lol)
Figure out a way to get up on that ledge at Cougar Bend

You definitely need to get that lariat from Tex. Which game are you having the problems with? If it's the one where you have to lasso the "horse",

try waiting until the rope is a complete circle(A.K.A it's not warped)before throwing it.

To win the lariat, you'll need to complete the barrel racing and roping mini-games. Did you need help trying to win those two games? Once you've succeeded, you'll be able to reach the ledge at Cougar Bend and mark all of the petroglyphs. :D

As for the crackers, you should be able to call a particular phone character to ask about them. Fixing the chicken coop will come later in the game. And I'm not sure why the tasklist always says to get Tex's permission; I think it's referring to Day 3, so you'll be able to check that off later on.

No problem! :D For barrel racing, in order to get under 10 seconds, you have to click to turn around the barrels in a particular way. This post has a compilation of tips which might help.

With the lariat mini-game, you need to click on the lariat when the loop is forming a perfect circle. If you wait roughly 10 seconds, it will be in the form of a circle, so click on it at that time. Do that four times and you'll win.
