I hate Lily. As soon as I met her in the game I instantly did not like her character. She was the first person I went to talk to when I started the game and I instantly decided that she was going to be one of those characters that was a chore to have to deal with, and she was. Playing the game with her made me so angry I quit the game several times because of it. The game itself was really fun and easy. To me it was one of the best games Nancy had to play next to Scopa in VEN. If I would have been playing with anyone else it would have been more fun.
Now that I have expressed my extreme dislike for Lily, the actual game. I thought that TMB was going to be more creepy than it actually was. There were three places you could go the two tents and inside the tomb itself. Inside the tomb there were several different places you could go and the tomb expanded as the game went on. However it didn't have a creepy vibe like I thought. Portions of the tomb made me jumpy but thats it. The design of the tomb was very well done, all of the colours and drawings made it very eye catching. I also thought that I would be using the artifact tent to dust things off and identify different things. But I guess I had high expectations because I was thinking back the bugs in CRE.
It was great to talk to Hotchkiss again and it made me think back to TRT walking around the castle and her sitting by the fire.
All of the puzzles were pretty unique and I enjoyed them all, I didn't find them very challenging although some of them involved translating text which was pretty tedious. But if you have patience it can be pretty easy.
There were portions of this game that are flawed. When nancy was talking to someone sometimes Nancy wouldn't say her lines or the person would skip over portion of there text. During the beginning explanation Nancy just said sub the whole time. It could have been my download but it seems strange that it would do that because I download all my games directly from the HER site. Another flaw was that Nancy would go to an area and nothing would be there and then she would go back and the thing she was looking for would just magically show up on the floor or something (bug medallion). That was annoying because there was no mention of "someone dropped this" or anything you were just suppose to believe that Nancy missed it the first time. She's Nancy Drew she's not going to miss a huge clue thats sitting on the floor. So I think more time could have been spent figuring out where to put things like that.
Overall I was a bit let down by this mystery and I didn't fully understand why Nancy got involved in this mystery at all. There wasn't that many puzzles, few people to talk to, and you were basically on your own the entire time, I didn't even call Bess. I still enjoyed it but I'm hoping for more puzzles and less glitches in Deadly Device.
