Did everyone see the letter from the CEO? HER is going to be putting a mobile game!!! How exciting is that?

It's very exciting! I wonder what format the game will take - I guess we'll have to wait and see

I'm really excited and happy about this! I don't yet have any devices that could play the game, but I'm really hoping that by the time it's released, I'll be able to buy and play it. Until then, I'll be cheering for Her all the way - it makes me so proud to see them expanding their product line, and I'm confident that this release will do well!

In terms of the game itself, I'm hopeful that it will be an adaptation of a certain delayed release...

Haha yeah it would be nice if it was Ship of Shadows or even a Stay Tuned for Danger Remastered. I think it's just going to be a port of a game that's already out, though. They wanted to start doing that with the Kickstarter. It's still exciting to see them expanding, though!

OMG!!!!!!!!! I am like soooo happy! I'm definitely going to buy it, be it an old game like they tried to do for TMB, a book like they should have done for iCAP, or a completely new adventure for Nancy! When exactly do you think it's coming out?! Thank you HeR! You really are the best company EVER!!
To the message boards: When I think of this place, I think of the many wonderful memories and friends that I made here as a young teen (some of which I have to this day!). I would just like to say thank you to everyone who made this place special and added so much joy to my life. From alternate endings, to entertaining message board games, to picking through the details of every game, to being so excited when a new game was released, to speculating if MID would ever come out, and of course to the time where so many of us sleuthed every inch of CRE to find that darn (fake) easter egg , I have had so much fun here and made so many memories. The boards may be all but dead but I will forever cherish this place, even if I never return to it. Thank you to you all

In my opinion, I think that HeR should do one of two things:

            1) Port their flagship games on to mobile devices (ie Surface, Android, iOS)

            2) Start a new series of Nancy Drew games that are exclusive to mobile devices.

            If HeR does #1...

I think that they should port the classic games over to mobile devices first. That would include: Stay Tuned for Danger, Message in a Haunted Mansion, Treasure in a Royal Tower, etc. If they did it like that, then newcomers could "get into the world of Nancy Drew" by starting with Nancy's earliest mysteries. After playing these earlier games, they may even get tempted to buy the successive games after that, which would generate a lot of revenue in app store sales for HeR.

            If HeR does #2...

With this option, HeR does have more creativity since they would be starting fresh. It could be something like "Nancy Drew: The Lost Cases"

With either decision they make, I'm very excited that they are finally making the decision to bring them over to mobile. There's a lot of revenue to be had in those markets!

I think it'll be out before May, considering MED will probably be out that month and they said the mobile game is coming out "early".

This is very exciting HeR news. I am surprised we haven't heard a whisper about any of this if it's coming out before MED, but then again not much has been said of MED either...

At any rate I'll probably get this game no matter what, but I hope they do something exclusive to mobile devices because I feel like the design would be more intuitive.

They did mention doing something for an Android device on twitter a little while ago, but nothing else a part from that. Maybe they want to drum up interest for it in the new year, closer to the time.

I am so loving this idea! There is a computer game I loved when I was younger that had been made into the iPod Touch so it would be so amazing if ND games are made into the iPod Touch! Especially Stay Tuned for Danger!

I would absolutely love if they had a game on any mobile device, whether it's on iOS or Android. I love playing mobile games and have been waiting anxiously for HER to jump on this bandwagon. I guess HER's inabillity to get adequate funding from the Kickstarter project has not deterred them from producing games for the mobile device market. Many Kudos to Stuart Moulder and HER!

                      Edited:

As far as format, I'd rather that HER do a brand new type of game rather than remaking an older game for a different platform. If HER is going to expand their horizons, they should do it all the way!

While I love the idea of mobile games, I refuse to allow myself to get excited just yet b/c we don't know yet which OS they will be for. I'd hate to get all excited (like I did the first time they made mobile mysteries) & then have it end up that they were only doing them for one OS & it wasn't the one I have.
That said, if it's available for my phone's OS, I'm hoping they'll be totally new Mysteries. I know it's selfish, but if it won't be available for my phone's OS, I really hope it's just a porting of the current games b/c that way I wouldn't have to miss out.

I'm pretty excited about this too, and would love if they could continue the Dossier series. Maybe if they got enough revenue for it on the mobile devices they could bring it back to the pc.... :D

Reina, I know how you feel because I only have one device (my phone) to play the games on. It would probably kill me to see the next Dossier game out but unable to play it.

Castle: Is that supposed to be an insult? Because Nancy Drew solved every case!
                          I love this line!

I think they'll release it on any phone or tablet that can play it. We already know it'll be available on Android from twitter and they've already tested out iOS with Mobile Mysteries: Shadow Ranch.

Well, if they are saying it'll be available on Android on Twitter & only mentioning Android, that's very disappointing to me since I don't have an Android. Them having tested out IOS could be good or bad (for IOS users) since I'm guessing Mobile Shadow Ranch didn't sell well. The reason I'm guessing that is b/c they ended the series with only that game. I had an Android back then & was very disappointed that they didn't release the game on Android. We've since switched from Androids to a better (for us, anyway) OS & if the new games are only available for Android, I'd be very disappointed since we sold our Androids back when we switched. I really wish HER would have specified which OS(s) they would be making the new games for when they told us about them.
I'm hoping you're right about them releasing them on all OSs, but them apparantly (I haven't seen the twitter post) only mentioning Android has me worried that it's only for that OS & sad at the possibility of missing out. If I'm misunderstanding what you meant, I apologise, since your first sentence could mean all OSs that can get apps or could mean all phones & tablets that use a particular OS, example if released for Android, every Android phone or tablet could get it, but IOS & Windows phones/tablets couldn't. Do I make any sense?
