Soooo, apparently, HeR has gained rights to the Hardy Boys series!!! I for one, am super excited about this. Anyone else????

These boards and the people on them brought me a lot of joy when I was younger. I will always be grateful for that. Thank you! My friends, I love and miss you all! ~HeidiJoy

Hm, intersting, I do love the Hardy Boys, also it might help me write in the male POV. I wonder if we're going to see Nancy in a game. I have a feeling she'll be a phone character, but still.
Is this new information you've read? HeR had gained rights (to what extent I'm not sure) to make the DS game "Treasure on the Tracks" about 5 years ago. I haven't seen any new information about this since then.

Yes, it was released in an online article just today. :)

I read it, too! It said they're going to be making "those puzzlers" as well, and that it's possible to see Hardy Boys releases from HER, so I'm excited!
GASP! So, does this mean that HeR Interactive has decided to also be HiM Interactive? Sounds very intersting! I can't wait to see what they do with it. :D

I've just read the article. I'm surprised HeR didn't include it in their press release page, nor address it anywhere directly. They could build a lot of hype for it, along with mobile GTH and MED right now.
I just read this article myself! I do agree with Rianna - initially I thought this information was just a rumor because of there being no official announcements about it, and it was only when I read more about Her acquiring the books' rights that I realized it was true. It's really surprising that Her hasn't mentioned this anywhere on their website or social media accounts. Perhaps they haven't finalized their plans of making a Hardy Boys game series, and are trying to plan their development team out before they announce anything?
Either way, I'm very excited for this. I hope it means that Her will be hiring more writers to help with the extra workload...even though I live very far away from their headquarters, it's still a dream of mine to help write their games If and hopefully when this comes to fruition, I'll be looking forward eagerly to seeing the various plots and styles that the games utilize!

That makes a lot of sense and is a likely reason for keeping that quiet at the moment.
I've been trying to find games comparable to the ND series for a long time, because I beat them so quickly and want something else to play. I wonder if this will mean more game releases per year, or will they simply alternate projects and maintain the timeline of two games a year? Hm...
Yes! Thank you, HeR! I've been wanting this to happen for years.
The sheer quality of the ND games has been enough to keep me playing them, but as a male I would much rather play a game geared toward guys. Obviously, your company is geared toward making gaming more appealing to girls, and I respect and applaud that. ...But your company is so darn good that I can't help but selfishly wish for a game for the guys.
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
I, too, wondered why there's no press release, but thinking about it, maybe they're waiting to get people excited until they actually have a Hardy Boys game in production, which might take a few years. I wonder how it'll work - Will there be one ND game and one HB game a year?
I'm flashing back to 2005 when we all thought HeR was switching to Hardy Boys after their "12 game contract" was up, lol.
I, for one, was ecstatic when I heard this! I did enjoy the Hardy Boys game for PC that the Adventure Company made a few years back, but it wasn't well-animated and the controls were clunky. The game also didn't sell very well and they only made a hidden object game of HB and then stopped. I guess they gave up the rights or they lost them because they stopped making games. I played the DS game which was a lot more fun, but the graphics on the console was limited.
I hope they make 1 Nancy Drew game and 1 Hardy Boys game a year and every other year do a crossover game. Or they could do 2 ND games and 1 HB game a year. Either way, we're getting more PC games and ports of older games to our tablets. It's a great time to be a Her Interactive fan!

Interesting development!
Perhaps they are considering HB games as side projects at the moment? Kind of like the Dossier games were? I'm assuming that they'd need to pull extra resources + possibly consider employing more people if they plan to make the HB games as quality as the ND games are now (and still release two ND games a year)
But yeah, I'd assume for them to quickly notify their fans and begin to build up at least some hype for a potential future development.
If I could report Midnight in Salem for being chatty, I would.

If I've understood correctly, they did wind up mentioning it in a radio interview recently (I haven't listened to it myself due to some restrictions accessing it, ugh). But still no big announcement about it.
