  • Petition for a more diverse set of characters.

I’m posting this petition because I’d like to see a more diverse cast in the games. While HER is really good at having a even amount of men and women in the games, I’d love to see them take this further, and have some characters with disabilities in the games. I feel that HER could include a disabled character, in a sensitive way. I’d also love to see more people of colour in the games as well (HER has been pretty good about this, but there's always room for improvement). It would be great if HER could work on this, as I think there are many people out there who’d like to see themselves represented in the games.

Update: Thank you to all of you for signing up! :)

      Sign me up!

I would like to see a character who only responds with ASL(American Sign Language), and perhaps have the option for Nancy to respond with ASL. I don't consider this a disability as a whole; essentially they can still communicate but this is just an extra idea.

I agree! We definitely need more POC, and characters with disabilities. It'd also be cool if HeR made characters with different body types. It seems lately all their characters share the same exact body type, and it's not even realistic. I'm pretty sure not a lot of Nancy Drew fans look that glamorous and thin all the time.

I'll sign! I'd love to see a concept like that in a HER game. And I also agree with cinemaknight, that more diverse body types would be beneficial as well. With JJ being a model and being that "perfect size 12," and still having her be gorgeous was a stride in the right direction, but I didn't like how she mentioned she had to eat so many cookies because she had such a high metabolism.

I think it's a great idea. There is always room for a little more diversity.

OMG YES!!! I completely agree!! As a little girl, I always loved seeing more characters that looked like me (I'm asian) and trust me, that doesn't happen often unless the character is a stereotypical nerd. With a more progressive society, seeing people who are disabled, gender queer/ LGBTQA, people of color, and not magazine thin is a more prevalent and accepted part of our time. It should be more represented in the games and in media in general :party face

Yes, I'd love to see different body types in the games more! I'm pleased that Bess is in MED and she has a curvy figure, but they could do more characters like this as well.

That's a good point about JJ - I had forgotten she mentioned needing to eat all the cookies for that reason.

Yep! Totally agree with all of what you've said. I think as our society is getting more progressive, it's a chance for HER themselves to be more progressive in their games. And I kinda think anyone should be able to play these games and see themselves in them.
