I hated third person too. In RAN is drove me crazy.
But in HAU it didn't bother me.
I would also like to be Nancy instead of controlling her.

There has been something missing from many of the newer games, and I know many of you are inclined to agree. Now, I'm not saying the newer games are bad. Not at all. However, there does seem to be an element that's missing, and it's hard to put a finger on. Some people have pointed out that the plots have been lacking in maturity and substance. Others say there's not as much character interaction. While I agree with those statements, there are other wonderful petitions out there addressing those issues and I would recommend you check them out! =] The other day I noticed something. More and more of the newer games now utilize the third person point of view (controlling Nancy from "birds eye view" and not actually seeing the environment through Nancy's eyes). Before you write this petition off as pointless, let me make a few points.

Now while this may not seem like too much of a big deal, think about how much less "exploring" you're actually doing. How many potential scenes you're missing. This contributes to the problem of not having as detailed and expansive environment to expore. And it's not like HER was forced to go to third person. They've proved in all of the earliest games that it's entirely possible to create Nancy's "world" without any third person at all. Remember exploring the forest in DOG? And sailing in DDI? I loved seeing all of the sights and being able to use my magnifying glass to actually search find clues. You can't do that in third person as well. Those are only a few examples. Now I suppose I don't mind a little bit here and there, but lately it's been taking over way too much of the game. For example, I hear that much of RAN is in third person (golf cart, sailing, etc) And in HAU, you spend half of your time controlling Nancy, and not actually being Nancy. Where's the fun in that? I thought the whole purpose of the games was to "be" Nancy. That's why we never actually see her. We're supposed to feel like we are her. If you feel the same way, I strongly encourage you to sign this petition. I'd love to hear everyone's opinions. If there are enough signers I'll send it to HER.
